Senior Development Manager
Byron Wilson serves as Senior Development Manager overseeing the development and construction management of large-scale retail projects for Geyer Morris Company. He has worked on the owner side of the commercial real estate development, redevelopment and construction industry for over 24 years and has delivered over 3 million square feet of shopping center space. Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in construction management and all other facets of shopping center development including entitlements, predevelopment, national and local tenant lease buildout criteria negotiations, budget creation and management as well as contract negotiations.
Prior to joining Geyer Morris, Mr. Wilson served as Vice President of Construction-South Region for Brixmor Property Group, a publicly traded REIT, with properties in excess of 87 million square feet in over 500 retail shopping centers. There he managed a team of six employees and the overall construction and development activities for approximately 150 properties totaling 24 million square feet located throughout the Southeast.
Previously, Mr. Wilson Served as Senior Construction Manager in Atlanta for Halvorsen Development Corp. headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida where he managed the development and delivery of a 500,000 square foot lifestyle center anchored by Target, Kohls, Home Depot, OfficeMax, TJ Maxx, PetSmart and Ross located in Flowery Branch, GA.
Mr. Wilson gained additional experience serving as Senior Construction Manager for IRT Property Company / Equity One, Inc., a publicly traded REIT, constructing and delivering multiple national and local tenant spaces throughout the Southeast.
Early on in his career, Mr. Wilson Served as Senior Regional Facilities Manager for the Kmart Corporation managing the maintenance and construction needs for 85 stores throughout the Southeast, Puerto Rico and United States Virgin Islands.
